The Special Adviser to Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has rejected claims that the ruling All Progressives Congress is attempting to dominate the 2027 elections as the only viable party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on Channels Television, Dare maintained that Nigeria’s political space remains open, noting that 21 registered parties are eligible to contest and each has the right to fair participation.

He, however, made it clear that the APC will not weaken its stance simply because opposition parties are facing internal challenges.

“There is no hidden or open agenda to make APC the only party on the ballot. We have 21 registered parties, and all are free to contest. But APC will not roll out the red carpet or shut down its activities because others are struggling,” he said.

Dare’s comments come in response to allegations by the spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress, Bolaji Abdullahi, who accused the APC of fueling internal crises within opposition parties to weaken them ahead of the 2027 elections.

The presidential aide dismissed the accusation, arguing that Nigeria’s democracy remains intact. He pointed to the ADC’s ability to freely protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission as evidence of political freedom.

Dare further insisted that neither the APC nor President Tinubu is intimidated by the opposition, stressing that the President remains focused on governance while the party handles its political affairs.

He described the challenges facing the ADC as self-inflicted, criticising the party’s internal management and approach to opposition politics.

According to him, recent developments within the party reflect poor leadership and mismanagement, rather than external interference.
