His emergence was confirmed after he was adopted without opposition at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on April 28, according to reports by NAN. The decision was announced by Ahmed Dangiwa, who chaired the committee for the Daura Zone, following consultations among party leaders in the area. Reacting to the outcome, the APC Chairman of Mai’adua Local Government, Mannir Musa, urged party members to rally behind the decision in the interest of unity and progress. He also appealed to Governor Dikko Radda to support aspirants who did not secure party tickets. Musa further noted that other candidates also emerged through consensus, including Nasir Yahaya for the Daura senatorial seat and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly. In his response, Yusuf Buhari thanked party members for their confidence in him and promised to deliver effective representation if elected in 2027.
