INEC Portal Update Sparks Buzz As Baba-Ahmed Named PRP National Chairman

The update comes after the party’s national convention held in Abuja and is seen as a move to clarify earlier uncertainties surrounding its leadership as political parties begin to realign ahead of the 2027 elections.

A review of INEC’s portal shows Baba-Ahmed listed along with other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), including Kanu Sunday Uchenna as National Secretary, Bayawo Yunusa Abdullahi as National Treasurer, Chuka Patrick as National Financial Secretary, and Vincent Danladi Okudu as National Legal Adviser.

Reacting to the development, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Bello Ishaq, welcomed the recognition and dismissed reports suggesting internal divisions within the party.

He stated that the update confirms INEC’s acknowledgment of the PRP’s new leadership following its convention, adding that claims of factionalisation are unfounded.

During the convention, Baba-Ahmed was elected alongside other national officers, including Deputy National Chairman (North), Mallam Buhari Haruna, and National Organising Secretary, Haruna Nanven, while zonal representatives were also inaugurated across the country.
