A former commissioner who served under ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 Kaduna State governorship election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sani, who previously held the positions of Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs before later serving as Commissioner for Education during the El-Rufai administration, has also obtained the ADC governorship nomination forms.

Speaking briefly through a WhatsApp message in response to enquiries from our correspondent, Sani confirmed his ambition.

“We are making efforts to be among the aspirants. Allah yayi mana jagora (May Allah guide us),” he said.

His entry into the race increases the number of politicians vying for the ADC governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections in Kaduna State.

On Wednesday, Sani was seen alongside other governorship aspirants at a stakeholders’ meeting where party leaders and hopefuls reportedly pledged to collaborate toward securing victory for the ADC in the next electoral cycle.

The gathering reportedly centered on promoting unity within the party and strengthening the ADC as a formidable opposition force ahead of the elections.

Notable figures also seeking the ADC governorship ticket include Isah Ashiru Kudan, the former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 elections.

Other aspirants in the race are Muhammad Sani Bello, Shuaibu Idris Mikati, and Tijjani Ahmad.
