Wike made the appeal on Monday while speaking to traders at Kado Fish Market during an inspection of the Deidei to Life Camp Road project. He assured residents that their cooperation would be rewarded with more infrastructure development.

According to him, governance is based on mutual agreement and trust, stressing that commitments made between leaders and citizens must be honoured.

He urged residents to fulfil their own part of the “agreement,” noting that the administration had already delivered on its promises.

Wike also promised that streetlights would be installed in the area once residents cooperate with the government.

He said: “This part of life is agreement, isn’t it? If you do for me, I do for you, no be so?

“Now that the president has fulfilled his own promise, you must fulfil your own promise, isn’t it so? Don’t worry, we will install streetlights here.”

In a related development, President Bola Tinubu recently referred to Wike as “landlord” during a brief exchange at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The comment came on Sunday when the President returned from Lagos State and was received by Wike and other government officials at the airport.

In a viral video, Tinubu was heard greeting the FCT Minister with the remark, “Landlord, you are back?”

Wike has recently been in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he was reportedly working to ensure that his allies secured tickets in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the state.
