Political Earthquake In Abia As Atiku Crushes Rivals In ADC Presidential Primary

Atiku secured 25,153 votes to defeat former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who garnered 18,339 votes.
Former presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen finished third with 3,264 votes.
The results were announced on Monday by the Returning Officer, Onyebuchi Chukwu. The primary election was held across various parts of Abia State under the supervision of security agencies.
Reacting to the exercise, the ADC Publicity Secretary in Abia State, Francess Olisa Ogbonnaya, applauded party members for their impressive turnout and orderly conduct during the voting process.
She also singled out party faithful in Arochukwu for maintaining peace throughout the exercise.
In a similar development, Atiku also recorded a landslide victory in the ADC presidential primary held across the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.
Announcing the outcome on Monday, the chief returning officer, Professor Aminu Abubakar, confirmed that Atiku defeated both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen in the contest.
The former Vice-President polled 68,823 votes to emerge winner, while Hayatu-Deen received 319 votes and Amaechi scored 292 votes.
Professor Abubakar described the exercise as peaceful and disclosed that a total of 69,434 votes were cast during the primary election.
