The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered the price of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) by ₦200 per litre.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

With the new adjustment, the depot price drops from ₦1,800 to ₦1,600 per litre.

The reduction follows the arrival of fresh imported fuel cargoes into Nigeria, which has boosted supply and intensified competition in the downstream petroleum market.

Industry sources said the new pricing structure took effect on May 26, with operators linking the change to increased fuel imports and mounting competitive pressure on local supply.

A representative of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria explained that the price cut came after imported fuel shipments began discharging at Nigerian ports, significantly shifting market dynamics.

The development comes amid ongoing tensions between fuel marketers and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority over import licence approvals, which recently allowed more marketers to bring in petroleum products.

Analysts say the price reduction could ease transport and operational costs if sustained, offering relief to businesses that rely heavily on diesel for production and logistics.
