The party also stated that it is intensifying efforts to attract members and structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into its ranks ahead of upcoming elections.

Makinde’s endorsement came as the APM concluded its primary elections and announced candidates for National Assembly and State Assembly positions across various federal and state constituencies in Osun State.

The Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Adewale Adebayo, said Makinde was unanimously affirmed across all 332 wards in the state.

He described the exercise as peaceful, adding that it reflected unity, consensus, and shared commitment among party members.

“In every generation, political movements endure not only through competition but also through cohesion, discipline, and collective purpose. Today, APM has clearly demonstrated that,” he said.

According to him, the affirmation of candidates across various positions reflects the party’s confidence in credible leadership and its determination to move forward as a united political structure.

He added, “The affirmation of our candidates across all elective positions reflects the confidence of the party in credible leadership and our determination to move forward as one united political family. Sometimes, the strongest democracy is not found in division, but in agreement built on trust, consultation, and shared vision.”

Announcing Makinde’s endorsement, Adebayo confirmed that the governor had been adopted as the party’s presidential candidate for 2027.

“Following the successful conduct of our primaries, we have affirmed His Excellency Seyi Makinde, the sole presidential aspirant of our great party, as the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement for the 2027 general election,” he said.

He further noted that the process was carried out across all 332 wards in Osun State without any form of violence or disruption.

Adebayo also said the party had activated reconciliation measures to engage dissatisfied members and ensure unity within its ranks.

He explained that the move is part of broader preparations for the 2026 Osun governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

The APM also called on members of the PDP and other Nigerians to join its platform, describing it as a growing opposition force aimed at reshaping the political landscape ahead of future polls.
