Wike made the remarks in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, during a meeting of a coalition involving members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
He warned that any attempt by governors to meddle in Rivers political affairs could lead to serious consequences.
According to him, “We met here before, and I said anyone from another state trying to destabilize Rivers State would face consequences. Didn’t I say so?
“People once threatened actions in my state, and I told them that if they ‘bring fire,’ they would get fire. Did they not experience it? Are they fine now?
“Those who believe that because of financial backing from the President they can come here and do as they wish should be careful, because trouble may also reach their own states.
“We are not troublemakers; we are peaceful people. But if you come here to cause problems, you should be ready for the outcome.
“Other states are facing political crises, whether within the PDP or APC, but here we are celebrating. That should tell you something. Do not interfere in what God has blessed.”
