She was arraigned on Tuesday before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.

According to the EFCC, the alleged offence involves ₦69,150,000 belonging to Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited.

At the start of proceedings, prosecution counsel, C.C. Okezie, urged the court to proceed with the arraignment, stating that the defendant had been duly served with the charge.

However, defence counsel, Nkama Nneka, informed the court that service of the charge had only recently been completed.

In his ruling, Justice Oshodi held that the arraignment should proceed, after which the charges were formally read to the defendant.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to both counts.

Allegations of False Representation

In the first count, the EFCC alleged that on or about March 21, 2025, the defendant induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to part with ₦69.15 million by falsely claiming that a property located at No. 1, Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, Lagos, belonged to her and had been leased to the company for five years.

The commission stated that the representation was false and made with intent to defraud.

Part of the charge read that the defendant knowingly misrepresented ownership of the property and used the claim to obtain financial benefit from the complainant company.

Alleged Conversion of Funds

The second count accused her of dishonestly converting the ₦69.15 million to her personal use, property said to belong to the company.

Following her plea of not guilty, the prosecution requested a trial date and asked that she be remanded in EFCC custody pending further proceedings in a separate case scheduled before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi.

Justice Oshodi ordered that she be remanded in EFCC custody and adjourned the matter until July 16, 2026, for hearing of her bail application and commencement of trial.

Separate Case and Bail Conditions

In a related development, Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, granted Blessing CEO bail in the sum of ₦10 million in connection with a separate alleged ₦36 million fraud case.

She was required to provide two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a family member with verifiable documentation including proof of employment, BVN, NIN, and valid contact details.

The sureties are also expected to submit international passports, tax clearance certificates for the last two years, and passport photographs.

Blessing CEO had earlier pleaded not guilty in that case, which was also adjourned for further hearing.
