Rarara Sparks Controversy, Claims Kwankwaso Played Key Role In Nigeria’s Economic Troubles

Speaking during an interview with the online platform SL Update, as reported by Daily Trust, Rarara argued that several of the nation’s present difficulties can be traced to policies and decisions made in previous administrations.
The singer specifically criticized the practice of withholding and controlling local government allocations from higher levels of government, describing it as a major obstacle to grassroots development.
“Local government funds are the lifeblood of the people. They are meant to bring government closer to citizens at the grassroots. When those funds are controlled elsewhere, the services intended for ordinary people are inevitably affected,” he said.
Rarara maintained that the arrangement has weakened local councils, limiting their ability to execute projects and provide essential services in rural communities.
He further argued that the absence of full financial autonomy for local governments has hindered progress in key sectors, including education, healthcare, water supply, and rural infrastructure.
According to him, meaningful economic growth and sustainable development can only be achieved when local governments are empowered to manage their resources independently and without undue interference.
He added that granting local councils complete control over their finances would strengthen governance at the grassroots level and improve service delivery across the country.
