The minister gave the warning on Wednesday in Sokoto during the commissioning of 62 operational vehicles and other security equipment valued at ₦27.127 billion, procured by the Sokoto State Government to enhance security operations across the state.
Addressing security operatives at the event, Musa urged them to respond decisively whenever they encounter armed criminals, stressing that they should not delay action while waiting for additional directives.
He warned that any officer who deliberately fails to engage bandits or terrorists under such circumstances would be regarded as aiding criminal elements.
The minister also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for providing logistics and operational support to security agencies, describing the investment as evidence of proactive leadership and commitment to improving security.
According to Musa, the newly commissioned armoured vehicles and tactical equipment will enhance operational mobility, intelligence gathering and force protection in the ongoing fight against banditry, terrorism and kidnapping.
He further cautioned security personnel to ensure that the equipment is properly maintained and used strictly for the purpose for which it was acquired, noting that the assets represent a significant public investment.
The Defence Minister also reminded officers to conduct their operations professionally and avoid intimidating or exploiting innocent residents.
He urged them to work closely with local communities while focusing their efforts on eliminating criminal groups and restoring peace to affected areas.
