She Was Never With Us’ — ADC Responds To Atiku Ally’s Reported Defection
The Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has downplayed the reported defection of Aslam Aliyu to the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that she was never a registered member of the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Aliyu had earlier announced her resignation from the ADC, stating that she decided to leave because the party lacked a clear strategy for addressing Nigeria’s political and economic challenges.
Responding in a statement, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Abdulhakeem Umar, rejected the claim that the ADC had lost one of its members, maintaining that available records do not show Aliyu as a registered member of the party in Zamfara State.
According to the statement, Aliyu neither possessed a valid ADC membership card nor completed the formal registration process required to become a recognised member of the party in the state.
The party further stated that her decision to join another political platform would have no impact on its leadership, organisational structure or political activities in Zamfara.
The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to building the party with members who are duly registered, loyal to its principles and dedicated to advancing its programmes.
It also maintained that individuals who do not share the party’s constitution, values and objectives are free to pursue their political ambitions elsewhere.
The party said its priority remains the development of a disciplined, united and principled political organisation committed to serving the interests of its members and the people of Zamfara State.
