Wike also accused the rival PDP faction led by Kabiru Turaki of misleading party members and the public, insisting that the group has not been granted the necessary INEC access codes required to upload candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The FCT Minister made the remarks on Thursday during his monthly media briefing with journalists in Abuja, where he addressed the ongoing leadership dispute within the opposition party.
According to Wike, INEC only provides candidate upload access codes to political parties it officially recognizes, maintaining that his faction has already received the credentials and has begun uploading the names of its candidates.
He further alleged that the Turaki-led faction had collected money from aspirants despite lacking the authority to submit candidates, adding that the group’s hopes now rest on the outcome of pending court cases.
“This thing Turaki is doing will backfire. He has collected money from people, but INEC has already given access codes to recognized political parties. Have they given him an access code? If not, which candidates is he selling forms to? We have received the access code, and we are already uploading our candidates,” Wike said.
