Bwala Drops Bombshell: ‘Why Is Everyone Quiet About Trump’s Praise?

Bwala made the remarks on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today while reacting to a letter from United States President Donald Trump commending President Tinubu’s efforts in addressing insecurity and terrorism in Nigeria.

According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Trump, in a letter dated July 6, 2026, praised Tinubu’s leadership, particularly his administration’s efforts to combat terrorism and attacks on Christian communities.

Commenting on the development, Bwala argued that the opposition had failed to focus on issues that matter most to Nigerians.

“The opposition is jobless. Let them continue playing politics, but Nigerians are more interested in knowing what is happening in their daily lives,” he said.

He maintained that citizens are primarily concerned about improvements in the economy, education and security, insisting that the Tinubu administration has recorded significant progress in those areas.

“Nigerians want to know what is happening with the economy, education and, most importantly, security, and we have made substantial progress,” Bwala stated.

The presidential aide also described the commendation from the United States as evidence of strengthened bilateral cooperation under Tinubu’s leadership.

“For the first time in Nigeria’s history, President Tinubu’s leadership has fostered a very strong partnership with the United States. The letter from the US government recognised the President’s commitment to deeper cooperation between both countries,” he said.

Bwala questioned why the development had not received wider attention, arguing that Nigerians deserved to hear about positive milestones recorded by the government.

“The US government wrote to commend the President of Nigeria for strengthening cooperation between our countries, yet the media is not discussing it today. Is that fair to Nigerians? Is it fair to citizens who want to know that the country is making progress and that these international partnerships are producing results?” he asked.
