Falconets Ready For Tough Spain Clash, Coach Aduku Declares

Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has declared that Nigeria are fully prepared for their opening fixture against Spain at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Nigeria will begin their Group F campaign against Spain in Sosnowiec on Monday, September 7, after completing their final preparations with two friendly matches.

The Falconets secured a 1-0 victory over hosts Poland in Brzeg last Friday before playing out a 1-1 draw against Korea Republic on Tuesday afternoon.

Aduku said he was pleased with the team’s preparations and performances in the two warm-up matches, while also confirming that the squad has no injury concerns ahead of the tournament.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the coach said the Falconets are now focused on their opening World Cup fixture and are ready for the challenge presented by Spain.

Aduku admitted that Nigeria could have converted some of their opportunities against Korea Republic but praised the Asian side for providing a valuable test ahead of the competition.

The coach said the friendly matches had helped the team assess its readiness and identify areas requiring improvement before the World Cup gets underway.

With preparations now complete, Aduku stressed that the Falconets would approach the tournament one game at a time, beginning with their Group F encounter against Spain.

He expressed confidence in his players and maintained that the team’s immediate priority is to deliver a strong performance in their opening match as Nigeria begin their World Cup campaign.
