Nigerian singer Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has revealed that the recent break he took from music was prompted by the death of his mother earlier this year.

The Afrobeats star made the disclosure on Friday while responding to a fan on who had assumed that his reduced activity was connected to work on a new album.

The fan, @VicroyDominion1, suggested that Kizz Daniel had become less active because he was taking time to prepare an album. However, the singer clarified that his absence was not related to any music project.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Kizz Daniel explained that he deliberately stepped away from his regular music activities to grieve his mother and remain available to support other members of his family during the difficult period.

The singer has previously experienced other significant personal losses. His father died in 2015, while one of his triplets died in 2021.
