Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2026: Application Date, Requirements And Full Details

The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise for Batch 39 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School, with the application portal scheduled to open on October 2 and close on October 31, 2026.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the recruitment exercise is open to eligible Nigerian citizens by birth who possess a National Identification Number (NIN) and satisfy the stipulated educational, age, physical and medical requirements.

The Navy urged interested applicants to complete their applications online through the official recruitment portal and warned members of the public against individuals requesting money or claiming to have connections capable of influencing the recruitment process.

The service emphasised that the entire recruitment exercise, including online registration and subsequent stages, is free of charge and applicants should not make payments to anyone.

Applicants are required to be medically, psychologically and physically fit and must not have any previous criminal conviction. Candidates must also meet the minimum height requirement of 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.

For candidates applying with O’Level qualifications, the Navy stated that applicants must be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026. They must also possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in no more than two sittings.

The recruitment guidelines also provide specific age and qualification requirements for candidates with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and National Certificate in Education (NCE) qualifications, as well as tradesmen, applicants in medical-related professions and sportsmen and sportswomen.

Successful applicants after the online application process will be required to print their acknowledgement form, parent or guardian consent form, Local Government attestation form and guarantor’s certification form.

The Nigerian Navy said details concerning the recruitment examination, including the date and venues, would be communicated to eligible applicants at a later stage.

The service further warned that each applicant is permitted to submit only one valid application, stressing that multiple applications would result in disqualification.

Applicants are also expected to have basic proficiency in English, as the Navy stated that inability to communicate effectively in the language could lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process.

The Navy advised prospective applicants to carefully study the recruitment requirements and use only the official recruitment portal when the application window opens on October 2, 2026.
