Love From Facebook To Marriage: 22-Year-Old Woman Weds Man She Met 10 Months Ago

A 22-year-old Nigerian woman, identified as Doreen Adekunle on Facebook, has attracted attention online after revealing that she married a man she met on the social media platform just 10 months after he first contacted her.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Doreen shared her love story while celebrating her marriage and expressing gratitude to God for what she described as an unexpected relationship.

Doreen said she met her husband while she was focused on her faith, personal goals and dreams. According to her, the relationship developed after the man sent her his first message on Facebook on November 1, 2025.

“People find their partners in different places, but I found mine on Facebook,” she wrote, explaining that she had been concentrating on serving God, pursuing her dreams and fulfilling her purpose when they connected.

She also referenced Matthew 6:33, which encourages believers to seek God’s kingdom and righteousness, saying the Bible verse eventually became part of her personal testimony.

According to Doreen, her husband was intentional about the relationship from the beginning and repeatedly expressed his desire to marry her, despite the fact that they were living in different countries.

“The Lord gave me a very intentional man, a man who came with clear intentions from the very beginning,” she stated.

She revealed that she initially insisted on meeting him physically before making any commitment. About three months after their connection on Facebook, the man reportedly travelled to Nigeria to meet her and arrived with his parents, whom he introduced to her as part of his plans for marriage.

Doreen said the meeting gave her greater confidence in his intentions and eventually paved the way for their marriage.

Reflecting on the development, the 22-year-old expressed gratitude for how the relationship unfolded, saying she had been concentrating on serving God, building her dreams and pursuing her purpose when she met the man who eventually became her husband.

“When I look at the story now, I can only say: Thank you Jesus. Oh, I married right!” she wrote.

She added that Matthew 6:33 had moved beyond being a Bible verse she knew and had become a personal testimony in her life.

Her account of meeting her husband through Facebook and getting married about 10 months later has since generated reactions from social media users.
