The Nigerian naira recorded a slight movement against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as the currency continued to trade around the ₦1,330-per-dollar level.
According to Bush Radio Academy, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira closed at ₦1,330.4737 to one US dollar on Tuesday.
The latest figure represents a marginal improvement compared with Monday’s exchange rate of ₦1,331.3292 per dollar.
At the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, the naira was reported to have closed at approximately ₦1,382 to the dollar on Tuesday.
However, actual rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change (BDC) operators and other foreign exchange dealers may vary from the reference rates due to transaction margins as well as changes in dollar demand and supply.
Market participants are expected to continue monitoring foreign exchange inflows, demand for the US dollar and policy measures by the CBN as the naira’s performance remains under close watch.
