D3adly Battle In Adamawa: 19 K!lled As Troops Clash With Terrorists
Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Hadin Kai have reported killing 16 suspected terrorists and recovering several weapons during coordinated operations in Adamawa State.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the operations were conducted between September 30 and October 1, 2026, across the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area and other locations within Sector 4 of the military operation’s area of responsibility.
The Acting Military Information Officer at the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation Hadin Kai, Mohammed Goni, disclosed the development in a statement shared through the Nigerian Army’s official X account.
According to the military, troops ambushed a suspected terrorist enclave in the Boima area of Gombi, where 16 terrorists were reportedly killed during the encounter.
A subsequent search of the area allegedly led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles and one Dane gun. Six AK-47 magazines and a belt of pump-action cartridges were also reportedly recovered.
The Army said the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to track suspected terrorists, disrupt their activities and prevent further attacks across the North-East.
In a related operation, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai reportedly carried out a precision airstrike on October 1 after an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform detected suspected terrorists in Sector 4.
The military said about 16 suspected terrorists and 15 motorcycles were observed beneath a tree canopy before the location was targeted in a strike at about 5:30 a.m.
The Army said a follow-up assessment indicated that the targeted position had been destroyed, while some of the suspected terrorists who survived the strike reportedly fled the area.
Meanwhile, troops also repelled coordinated attacks on the 226 Battalion in Garkida and the 232 Battalion in Garaha. According to the military, the attackers were forced to withdraw following a response from the troops.
However, three soldiers were killed during the fighting, while wounded personnel were evacuated for medical treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.
The military did not disclose the identities of the soldiers who died or provide further details on casualties reportedly suffered by the attackers during the assaults on the military positions.
The Theatre Command said follow-up exploitation and mop-up operations were continuing across the affected areas as troops maintained efforts to track suspected terrorists and restrict their movements.
The military also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information that could assist ongoing operations, stressing that cooperation between communities and security personnel remained important in efforts to combat terrorism in the North-East.
