Rick Ross In Trouble As Rapper Is Arrested Over Alleged Battery Incident

American rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Roberts II, has been arrested on battery charges following allegations of physical abuse made by his former girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick.

According to Bush Radio Academy, court records and reports from U.S. media outlets indicate that Ross surrendered to authorities in Miami-Dade County following a complaint made by Kendrick over an alleged incident at the home they previously shared on August 28.

The arrest came days after Kendrick publicly announced the end of her relationship with Ross and accused the rapper of domestic violence in a post shared online.

Kendrick reportedly told police that an argument began after Ross confronted her over a photograph posted on social media and accused her of being dishonest about an alleged relationship with another man.

She alleged that Ross slapped her in the face, struck her several times in the chest and choked her to the point where she struggled to breathe. Kendrick also accused the rapper of grabbing her by her ponytail and slamming her against a wall.

According to reports, Kendrick provided police with photographs of injuries she said were sustained during the alleged confrontation.

Ross was subsequently arrested on charges of felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery, with both charges classified as domestic violence-related.

The rapper has pleaded not guilty to the allegations and was reportedly being held on a combined $6,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for October 22.

Ross’s attorneys, Steve Sadow and Bradley Horenstein, have denied the allegations and maintained that their client was wrongfully accused.

The lawyers also raised concerns about the timing of the complaint, noting that Kendrick reportedly contacted police about a month after the alleged incident. They urged the public to allow the legal process to take its course rather than reaching conclusions about the case before it is resolved.
