Kalu Dares Otti: Find One Ohafia Project And I’ll Drop My Governorship Ambition
The Abia State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kalu Kalu, has challenged Governor Alex Otti to identify any project executed by his administration in Ohafia Local Government Area.
Kalu made the statement during an interview on Arise TV’s The Morning Show, where he alleged that Ohafia had received more than ₦16 billion in allocations over the past three and a half years but claimed that residents could not point to any state government project in the area.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Kalu, who is from Ohafia, challenged the television station to visit the local government and ask the governor and his aides to identify any project undertaken by the state administration for the people.
He went further to make a personal pledge, saying he would withdraw his governorship ambition if even one project executed by Otti’s administration in Ohafia could be identified.
Kalu also alleged that parts of Ohafia had experienced prolonged power outages, claiming that the local government had gone close to 10 years without electricity in some areas.
Speaking about his plans if elected governor, the ADC candidate said his administration would focus on restoring hope among young people and creating opportunities that would encourage them to remain in Abia rather than leave the state in search of better prospects.
He argued that years of economic hardship had caused many young Nigerians to look outside the country for opportunities, adding that he would seek to create an environment where young people could build sustainable livelihoods within Abia.
