Joshua Makes Bold Tyson Fury Prediction: It Ends In The First Round

Anthony Joshua has predicted that he will knock out Tyson Fury in the opening round when the two British heavyweights meet in a highly anticipated showdown at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on December 11.

Joshua made the prediction after appearing alongside Fury in London on Wednesday following the confirmation of their long-awaited all-British heavyweight clash.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the fight had faced uncertainty over its location, with Joshua and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, pushing for the contest to be staged in the United Kingdom. Joshua said bringing the bout to Britain was particularly important because of the fans.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Joshua said he was targeting a spectacular victory and would be looking for an early finish.

“A knockout, if I am honest with you. Could be in the first round,” Joshua said.

The former heavyweight champion also revealed that he was determined to see the fight happen even if his preferred venue in the UK had not been secured. He explained that while the location mattered to him and the fans, he was not prepared to walk away from the contest altogether.

Joshua further insisted that his career would continue beyond the Fury fight, despite acknowledging that his opponent possesses considerable ability and versatility inside the ring.

He described Fury as a skilled fighter who moves well and performs at a high level, while maintaining confidence in his own ability to compete with him.

Fury, meanwhile, has been installed as the early bookmakers’ favourite ahead of the encounter. However, Joshua remains confident of producing a decisive result when the two fighters finally settle their rivalry in the ring.

Fury has also promised an aggressive approach, declaring that he intends to engage Joshua in an all-out contest rather than rely on a defensive strategy.

The December 11 bout will take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and will be contested for the WBA super heavyweight title. The highly anticipated fight is also expected to stream globally on Netflix.
