Nigerian Army Retires Master Warrant Officers In Major Shake-Up
The Nigerian Army has held a farewell ceremony for discharged Master Warrant Officers of the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna State, urging them to remain good ambassadors of the military and continue contributing positively to society after leaving active service.
The ceremony, held at the Depot Nigerian Army conference room, was attended by the Depot Commandant, Brigadier General Usman Ahmad, principal staff officers and heads of departments.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the development was disclosed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, Chikadibia Anele, in a post shared on the Nigerian Army’s official X handle.
Addressing the departing personnel, Ahmad urged the retirees to maintain cordial relationships with the communities where they would settle and uphold the values they acquired during their years of military service.
He encouraged them to remain responsible ambassadors of the Nigerian Army while continuing to support efforts aimed at protecting civilians within their communities.
The commandant also advised the retirees to maintain healthy lifestyles by engaging in hobbies, extracurricular activities and other productive pursuits as they transition into life outside active military duty.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Ahmad commended the Master Warrant Officers for their years of dedication, service and sacrifice to the nation.
He wished them success and fulfilment as they begin a new chapter of their lives after their military careers.
Responding on behalf of the retiring personnel, the outgoing Regimental Sergeant Major of the Depot, Master Warrant Officer Joshua Agwaru, expressed appreciation to the commandant for his leadership, mentorship and guidance.
Agwaru assured the Nigerian Army that the retirees remained willing to make their experience and expertise available whenever their services were required in other capacities.
He said the discharged personnel would continue to support the institution and remain available to serve whenever called upon.
