Tragedy In Bauchi: Former APC Women Leader Found D3ad Inside Her Home

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of Mrs. Jemimah Dutse, a former zonal women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi South.

Dutse was reportedly found dead inside her residence in Muazu New Layout, Yelwa area of Bauchi metropolis, with an apparent injury to her throat.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Command, SP Nafiu Habib, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, 2026, saying an investigation had commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to Habib, a 49-year-old resident of Muazu New Layout reported the incident to the ‘E’ Division of the command on October 3.

Following the report, detectives attached to the division visited the scene, documented relevant findings and evacuated Dutse’s body to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi for medical examination and autopsy.

The police spokesperson said the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for a discreet and thorough investigation.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the investigation is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding Dutse’s death and identify those responsible if foul play is confirmed.

The command expressed condolences to Dutse’s family, friends and political associates, assuring members of the public that every effort would be made to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The police also assured residents that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
