Tinubu Receives Fresh Military Briefing As Musa Reveals Plans To Boost Troop Morale
President Bola Tinubu has met with the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), at the Presidential Residence in Lagos to review Nigeria’s security situation and ongoing military operations across the country.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the meeting focused on the national defence framework, progress recorded in counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations, as well as measures to improve coordination among security agencies.
The meeting was disclosed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Minister of Defence on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde.
During the engagement, Musa briefed the President on ongoing defence initiatives, operational logistics affecting troops on the frontline and proposed reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s military capabilities.
The proposed measures include efforts to improve troop morale, modernise military equipment and strengthen defence infrastructure across various parts of the country.
Tinubu, during the meeting, expressed satisfaction with what he described as steady progress in efforts to protect vulnerable communities and improve security nationwide.
The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the Ministry of Defence with the necessary support to effectively carry out its responsibilities.
The minister reportedly provided a comprehensive update on ongoing military operations and outlined proposed reforms designed to enhance the welfare and effectiveness of personnel while improving the capabilities of the armed forces.
Musa, in turn, expressed appreciation to Tinubu for his continued guidance and support for Nigeria’s security institutions.
He assured Nigerians that the Ministry of Defence remained committed to fulfilling its mandate with determination and integrity.
The meeting formed part of Tinubu’s ongoing security briefings and consultations with senior government officials as his administration continues efforts to address security challenges and strengthen the country’s defence architecture.
