A 33-year-old man identified as Monsuru Musa was reportedly caught on October 7 while allegedly writing the FCT Civil Service Commission promotional examination on behalf of his father, Musa Mohammed, an employee of the FCT Fire Service.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the incident occurred at the premises of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), where the examination was being conducted.

The spokesperson for the command, Lere Olayinka, said security personnel deployed following the directive of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike apprehended Monsuru during the examination.

According to Olayinka, the suspect initially claimed that his father was ill and was somewhere within the NOUN premises. However, he later allegedly admitted that his father had instructed him to sit for the examination on his behalf.

During questioning, Monsuru reportedly said his father was between 67 and 68 years old. However, his father gave a different account, stating that he would turn 60 in February 2027.

Olayinka further disclosed that Musa Mohammed told investigators that he completed primary school in 1977 and secondary school in 1982.

Following the development, both the father and son were handed over to the police for further investigation after making statements to DSS operatives.

The authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged impersonation and determine whether further action should be taken against the two men.
