2027: Governor Kefas Declares Taraba 100 Percent APC Backs Tinubu For Re-Election

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the people of the state are prepared to vote for the President.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Kefas made the declaration on Wednesday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The governor, who described himself as the leader of the ruling party in Taraba State, said his visit was partly to welcome Tinubu back to the country following his overseas vacation and to offer condolences over the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State.

Kefas said he also used the opportunity to express solidarity with the officers, personnel and other citizens affected by the tragic incident.

“I’m also the leader of the party in my state, so I came to welcome the President home and also to condole with him over the incident of the crash of the Nigerian Air Force plane and also the officers and men and citizens of this country that were involved in the crash,” he said.

Speaking about the Federal Government’s interventions in Taraba, the governor said residents had benefited from programmes and support in areas including security, education, healthcare and infrastructure.

He argued that the interventions had strengthened public confidence in the Tinubu administration, adding that residents could see the impact of the Federal Government’s support across different sectors.

Kefas said the people of Taraba had received assurances that the President was committed to reaching them through the state government and expressed confidence that this would translate into electoral support in 2027.

“You can see that I’m on the ground; we’re in charge. All the intervention, all the support from the President, the people are feeling it, from security to free education to the healthcare system to infrastructure,” he said.

The governor further declared that Taraba would support Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, saying, “The people have no doubt, and they’ve given all the assurance that Mr President is reaching out to them through me, and for that reason, they are going to vote for Mr President. Taraba State is for APC 100 percent.”

His declaration adds to the growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, as political leaders and governors continue to indicate their preferred alliances and positions ahead of the polls.
