I Don’t Think You Can Love Two People — Ayra Starr Reveals Her Relationship Rule

Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she would end a serious relationship if she became attracted to someone she considered more physically attractive than her current partner.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the singer made the disclosure while responding to a woman who sought relationship advice during an episode of the Ask Ayra Starr show.

Ayra Starr explained that if she were in a committed relationship and subsequently developed an interest in another person she found more attractive, she would choose to end her existing relationship rather than become romantically involved with both individuals.

The singer said she believes it is better for someone to leave an existing relationship and take time to understand their feelings instead of attempting to maintain two romantic relationships simultaneously.

“If I’m in a serious relationship with a guy and then I find another guy more attractive, I would break up with him instead of dating both of them at the same time,” she said.

Ayra Starr further expressed the view that a person may need time alone to properly understand their emotions before deciding who they genuinely want to be with.

“I don’t think you can love two people. I think you need time to yourself so you can figure it out,” she added.

The singer also addressed the importance of maintaining friendships while in a romantic relationship, warning against completely abandoning friends after finding a partner.

According to her, entering a relationship should not automatically result in isolation from friends, stressing that both romantic relationships and friendships should be maintained in a healthy balance.

“You should never abandon your friends because you are in love. Your partner should not isolate you from your friends because you are in a relationship,” Ayra Starr said.

She added that people should strive to create a balance between their friendships and romantic commitments, rather than allowing one relationship to completely replace the other.

Her comments have sparked conversations about attraction, commitment, emotional clarity and the importance of maintaining healthy relationships outside romantic partnerships.
