‘I’m Truly Sorry’ – Victor AD Seeks Tiwa Savage’s Forgiveness Over Failed Collaboration
Nigerian singer Victor Adere, popularly known as Victor AD, has apologised to Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage over their unreleased remix collaboration on his hit song, Wetin We Gain.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Victor AD issued the apology in an open letter shared on his social media page, admitting that he should have addressed the matter much earlier.
The singer revealed that Tiwa Savage had recorded a verse for the proposed remix, but the collaboration was never officially released. He acknowledged that although there were reasons the project did not materialise, none could justify the outcome or outweigh the time, effort and creativity the award-winning singer invested in it.
Victor AD expressed regret over how the situation unfolded and thanked Tiwa Savage for agreeing to contribute to the song. He also praised her impact on the Nigerian music industry and her role in promoting Afrobeats internationally.
In his message, the singer described his apology as an opportunity to take responsibility for his actions and recognise the contribution Tiwa Savage made to his musical journey.
He further commended the singer for her influence on the culture and the opportunities she has helped create for other artistes, stressing that he would never take her support and contribution for granted.
Tiwa Savage, in her response, accepted the apology and made it clear that she held no grudges over the unreleased collaboration. She also suggested that there was a reason behind how events unfolded, expressing her belief that God knows why everything happens.
The exchange has drawn attention to the unfinished musical project between the two Nigerian stars, with Victor AD acknowledging the disappointment surrounding the remix and Tiwa Savage responding graciously to his apology.
Although the remix never reached listeners, the public exchange has highlighted the importance of accountability, appreciation and mutual respect in professional relationships within the music industry.
