Wike Makes Fresh Revelation About Fubara, Says Rivers Governor Is Happy Working With Him
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has claimed that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is happy working with him again despite their previous political disagreements.
Wike made the statement on Tuesday during his monthly media chat in Abuja, where he maintained that both politicians were now working together and that Fubara was comfortable with their current relationship.
The former Rivers State governor also suggested that Fubara’s major political concern at the moment was whether he would seek another term in office, insisting that the governor’s political camp would retain power regardless of his decision.
Wike said he was not planning to contest an election himself but maintained that he remained politically influential and capable of affecting the calculations of his opponents.
He also dismissed suggestions that his political relevance had diminished following his appointment as FCT minister, arguing that his influence in Rivers State remained significant.
According to Wike, the current arrangement between him and Fubara had changed the political situation in the state, adding that the governor’s political allies would remain in control regardless of whether Fubara decided to contest another election.
The relationship between the two politicians has attracted considerable attention following their earlier political disagreements, which triggered tensions within Rivers State’s political establishment.
However, Wike’s latest remarks suggest that he believes the two camps have reached a working understanding, although he did not provide further details about the terms of their reported cooperation.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Wike’s comments have renewed attention on the evolving political relationship between the FCT minister and Fubara, particularly as questions surrounding Rivers State’s political leadership and the next election continue to feature in public discussions.
