I Don’t See It Going The Distance — Dana White Makes Bold Prediction For Joshua-Fury Clash

UFC chief executive Dana White has predicted that the highly anticipated heavyweight showdown between British rivals Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will end in a knockout rather than go the distance.

White made the prediction during an interview with Sun Boxing ahead of the scheduled December 11 encounter at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Although he declined to identify his preferred winner, he expressed confidence that the fight would produce an explosive finish.

The American promoter said he was looking forward to watching the contest live, describing it as a major heavyweight event.

White also disclosed how he became involved in the fight’s organisation, revealing that Saudi Arabian boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh and streaming platform Netflix approached him to participate in the project.

He admitted that he had initially been hesitant about becoming involved in boxing negotiations, despite his previous experience promoting the high-profile 2017 crossover bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.

According to White, his involvement in the Joshua-Fury project followed requests from the parties behind the event rather than an attempt to force his way into the negotiations.

Despite his promotional rivalry with Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn, White praised Hearn and Joshua for helping ensure that the fight would take place in the United Kingdom.

He noted that the contest could also have attracted significant commercial interest at a major American venue such as Madison Square Garden in New York. However, he credited Hearn and Joshua for pushing to keep the event in Britain, allowing local fans to watch the two heavyweight stars compete on home soil.

The December 11 bout is expected to attract considerable international attention, with reports suggesting that the event could generate a record gate of approximately $34 million. Netflix is also expected to provide coverage for audiences around the world.

According to Bush Radio Academy, White’s knockout prediction has added to the anticipation surrounding the Joshua-Fury showdown, which is expected to be one of the most closely watched heavyweight boxing events involving British fighters.
