Recall Godwin Emefiele was suspended late yesterday and was picked up a few minutes later by the DSS, his Deputy was Shunobi was appointed as new acting Governor of the Central Bank.

In his words, he said;

“While we are still saying the FG must stop appointing bankers as CBN Governor because they know nothing about fiscal policies or how to run an economy, the new president goes to appoint a mechanical engineer as Acting CBN Governor. This is why nations fail.”

“He is a mechanic engineer. He has a PhD in mechanical engineering. This is a fact. It’s only in Nigeria that people who study Islamic studies end up in the bank. Our economic woes are too many to be appointing bankers as CBN Gov. Bankers know nothing about running the economy.”

“I do not criticize for criticism sake. Our economy is so bad that we need the very best hands to be in charge not all these trial by error folks. The next CBN Gov should be a sound economist. The KENYA CBN GOV is a sound economist with a PhD + 15yrs IMF experience.”

“The only reason why that guy was named acting is because he is Yoruba. A mechanical engineer should not even be in CBN or working in a bank in the first place.”

“Next CBN GOV should be an economist. Next CBN GOV should be an economist. Next CBN GOV should be an economist. Stop appointing bankers as CBN Governors. They know nothing about fiscal policies or the economy. They are mostly marketers.”

“All the other Deputy Governors in CBN are his seniors and more qualified than him but he was picked as Acting. I insist that the only reason he was picked is because of tribalism.”
