Police Arrest Two Suspected Armed Robbers Operating In Tricycle In Delta State
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly operating with a tricycle in the state.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, disclosed the arrests in a statement, identifying the suspects as Musa Haruna, 22, and Mubarak Abdulahi, 20.
Edafe said the suspects were arrested on October 11, 2026, following credible intelligence about their alleged criminal activities.
He explained that operatives attached to the Orerokpe Police Division received information from the Civilian Anti-Cult Group in Osubi about suspected armed robbers reportedly operating along Osubi Road using a tricycle.
Acting on the intelligence, the police team mobilised alongside members of the civilian anti-cult group and local vigilantes to track down the suspects.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the two men, who were reportedly stopped while travelling in a tricycle with registration number BDG 429 QN.
According to the police spokesperson, a search of the tricycle led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size double-barrelled shotgun, seven live cartridges and a jackknife.
Edafe said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly members of a criminal syndicate involved in robbing and abducting unsuspecting passengers.
He added that the suspects were also alleged to have forced their victims to transfer money from their bank accounts during the attacks.
The police said investigations were ongoing to identify and arrest other suspected members of the syndicate and ensure that those involved were brought to justice.
The command reiterated its commitment to tackling armed robbery and other criminal activities across Delta State, while the allegations against the arrested men remain subject to investigation.
