Drop Those Phones And Encounter God – Victoria Orenze Warns Worshippers Against Recording Ministration

Popular gospel singer Victoria Orenze has cautioned worshippers against recording videos on their mobile phones during ministration, urging them to remain focused on God and seek a genuine spiritual encounter.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the singer made the remarks in a video circulating online, where she confronted some worshippers who were attempting to record her during a ministration.

Orenze questioned the growing tendency among churchgoers to prioritise capturing moments on their phones rather than concentrating on worship. She urged those present to put their devices away and engage wholeheartedly in the spiritual gathering.

“Everything is about capturing, and yet you will have nothing inside. You want to capture? Capture in your heart. Drop those phones. Have an encounter with God,” she said.

The gospel minister stressed that physical attendance at a church service was not enough if worshippers were mentally and spiritually distracted by the desire to record videos.

To reinforce her message, Orenze referred to biblical accounts involving Bartimaeus and the woman who suffered from an issue of blood, noting that their encounters with Jesus were driven by their needs and faith rather than an interest in documenting the moments.

“The woman with the issue of blood didn’t say, ‘Jesus is passing, let me video Him.’ You don’t have an issue; if you do, you won’t pick up your phones and make videos,” she added.

Her comments have drawn attention to the growing practice of recording worship sessions and church ministrations with mobile phones, raising questions about how the use of technology affects concentration and participation during religious gatherings.

Orenze’s message emphasises the importance of being fully present during worship and prioritising personal spiritual engagement over recording moments for later viewing or sharing on social media.
