Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has led members of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), headed by Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, on courtesy visits to the Katsina and Daura Emirates to seek support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the visits were aimed at engaging traditional institutions and securing their support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Presenting the delegation to the Emirs of Katsina and Daura, Radda reaffirmed his state’s commitment to the APC and expressed confidence in the party’s continued support in Katsina. He attributed the state government’s position partly to the initiatives and programmes of the Tinubu administration.

The governor also emphasised the importance of cooperation between federal and state governments in implementing development projects, improving citizens’ welfare and advancing the interests of Nigerians.

Radda highlighted the role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity and political stability, noting that regular engagement with traditional rulers was important for effective governance and community development.

He commended the Emirs for their leadership and contributions to peaceful coexistence, community development and the welfare of their subjects.

The governor further stressed the need for political leaders to maintain constructive relationships with traditional institutions, describing such partnerships as important for building public confidence and addressing challenges affecting communities.

Speaking during the visit, Yari said the delegation had come to pay homage to the Katsina Emirate, demonstrate respect for the traditional institution and seek the support of the Emir and the people of the state for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

He explained that the visits formed part of wider consultations with traditional rulers and other stakeholders as the campaign council sought to strengthen political engagement ahead of the polls.

Yari also described traditional rulers as important partners in promoting peace, unity and constructive engagement between political leaders and their communities.

He added that continued consultations would provide an opportunity for the APC campaign council to communicate the Tinubu administration’s programmes, mobilise support and promote continuity in governance.

The visits come as political parties and their campaign structures begin preparations and stakeholder engagements ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
