Adamu took the opportunity to clarify the delay in announcing the President’s ministers and heads of ministries, departments, and agencies, stating that Tinubu was engaging in extensive consultations before making an official announcement.
During a meeting with the National Working Committee and APC state chairmen in Abuja, Adamu addressed the party leaders. He stated, “Every APC member has the right to hope for some patronage. However, we cannot all be ministers or occupy positions in various agencies and departments across the country.”
Adamu further explained that the President had just begun his consultations and would announce his ministerial nominees after the screening process. Only then would the ministers be formally appointed and sworn in, followed by the disclosure of their respective ministries.
He also mentioned that once the ministers assumed office, a comprehensive report would be compiled, which would identify vacancies for chief executives, directors, and part-time directors. These appointments and assessments would occur over the next two months, and it would not be possible to expedite the process.
Despite this, the APC Chairman expressed optimism that Tinubu would consider party loyalists at both the state and national levels for appointments.
