Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has expressed her dismay once again over the recent clash between the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NcoS) concerning the custody of suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

However, despite the court’s ruling to remand him at the correctional center pending bail fulfillment, DSS operatives insisted on taking him into their custody, leading to a heated brawl between personnel from both agencies on the court premises.

In response to the incident, Ezekwesili urged the DSS to apologize and abide by the rule of law. She expressed her concern about the impact of a predatory political class on various aspects of the country, including institutions like the State Security establishment.

According to Ezekwesili, collective citizens’ action is crucial for holding politicians and public agencies accountable, and she called on all reasonable citizens to play their part in ensuring compliance with the rule of law by the DSS.
