A statement released by Kabir Abba Kabir, the Special Adviser, Media, to the commission’s chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, revealed that Inuwa is the founder of the Association of Compassionate Friends and the sole signatory of a business entity named Limestone Processing Link, which is allegedly linked to the diversion of the aforementioned funds.
The commission alleges that Inuwa, along with his father, misappropriated and diverted the sum of N3,275,685,742.00 through bank accounts associated with the Association of Compassionate Friends. This association is registered under Part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, with no business-related objectives.
Additionally, the commission discovered that N480,000,000.00 was diverted through the bank account of a business named ‘Limestone Processing Link’, managed by the founder of the Association of Compassionate Friends.
Out of this amount, N400,000,000.00 was allocated as a fixed deposit, and some funds were transferred to a bank account bearing the name of Bala Mohammed Inuwa.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken the opportunity to criticize the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the recent appointment of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the party’s national chairman.
The PDP highlights the corruption and bribery allegations against Ganduje and claims that this appointment reflects poorly on the ruling party. The PDP further reminds that Ganduje is currently under investigation by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) and suggests that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should conduct a thorough investigation into the new APC national chairman.
