Clarifying the matter, Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio emphasized that Tinubu did not request approval for military action but rather sought assistance in executing ECOWAS decisions in his role as the Chairman of ECOWAS.
The Senate’s leadership has been tasked with engaging with the President on behalf of the entire Senate to resolve the crisis amicably, while also calling on President Tinubu, as the Chairman of ECOWAS, to encourage other leaders in the region to explore political and diplomatic means to resolve the impasse in Niger.
