“We had a nice discussion,” Okonjo-Iweala revealed, stressing that their conversation focused on both immediate and long-term initiatives to alleviate the poverty pervading the nation. The scope of their discussion extended to the potential business opportunities Nigeria could harness, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector.

Okonjo-Iweala also detailed ongoing efforts with Nigerian women entrepreneurs, both small-scale and large-scale, aimed at improving the quality of their products in sectors like agriculture and textiles. The goal is to enhance their competitiveness in the international market.

“we also talked about the longer term, the business opportunity Nigeria can seize including i the pharmaceutical sector. We are already working in Nigeria with women who own businesses of various scales, assisting them in upgrading the quality of their products. This will enable them to sell more internationally.
