This commitment was affirmed during a meeting held yesterday at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, where Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), welcomed the management team of NIGCOMSAT.

According to a statement from the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, the COAS expressed gratitude to NIGCOMSAT for furnishing rapid, dependable, and secure communication services to Army units. He emphasized the positive impact these services have had on the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Army (NA).

He also assured that the partnership between NA and NIGCOMSAT would be sustained, as the affiliation with the agency has yielded rewarding outcomes.

In response, Engr Tukur Lawal, the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, commended the Nigerian Army for its valuable feedback on NIGCOMSAT’s services and the productive cooperation between the two entities.

He elaborated that NIGCOMSAT was established with the purpose of offering seamless connectivity and satellite communication through technological innovation.

Lawal emphasized the necessity for the Nigerian Army to collaborate closely with NIGCOMSAT to bolster operational efficiency and safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity.

He urged the Nigerian Army to actively participate in the forthcoming satellite launch orchestrated by the agency. This participation would signify the joint effort towards national defense and security, chiefly through the collaborative development of secure communication infrastructure.

Both parties acknowledged the presence of certain challenges and concurred on their resolve to mitigate these challenges to enhance overall productivity.
