Speaking during a meeting held in Abuja to mark his assumption of office, Geidam emphasized the necessity for an efficient, professional, and accountable police force focused on citizen well-being and security.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that both Senator Geidam and the Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, officially commenced their roles yesterday.
In his address, Geidam highlighted that the challenges the police force encounters should be viewed as opportunities for success.
He stressed that with unwavering determination, dedication, and a shared vision, the ministry can surmount any obstacles it faces.
The minister encouraged the ministry’s staff members to embrace innovation, think outside the box, and propose novel ideas that can help the institution adapt to present-day realities.
Geidam acknowledged the current issues concerning maintaining law and order and ensuring citizens’ safety in the nation.
He asserted that these challenges necessitate a collective approach, combining the expertise and experience of all stakeholders to bring about positive transformations.
