They continued their camaraderie as coursemates at the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna, eventually becoming commissioned officers of the Nigeria Army on the same day. Their paths also crossed as military governors during the era of military rule.
While Mark served as the military governor of Niger state, Ogbeha held the position of military governor in both Akwa Ibom state and the old Bendel state. Both individuals were retired from their military careers on the same day with the rank of Brigadier Generals.
With the advent of democracy in 1999, both Mark and Ogbeha transitioned into politics and were elected as Senators. Ogbeha represented Kogi West Senatorial district, while Mark represented the Benue South Senatorial zone in the Senate.
