In a landmark decision, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) gave its verdict on petitions filed by three major political parties contesting the presidential election results of February 23, 2023. The challengers included the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party, alongside their respective candidates – Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the tribunal decisively quashed all three petitions and upheld President Bola Tinubu’s electoral victory.

Responding to the judgement, President Tinubu, in a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, expressed a deepened commitment to the Nigerian people, promising to maintain a keen focus on unifying the country and driving it toward greater prosperity.

He articulated a profound sense of duty, emphasizing his readiness to serve all citizens regardless of political affiliations, religious beliefs, or ethnic backgrounds.
