During his visit to the recently acquired Chocolate factory in Idanre by Johnvents Limited, Governor Akeredolu, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture and Agribusiness, Pastor Akin Olotu, expressed his delight at the factory’s transformation under its new ownership.

He emphasized that the people of Ondo State would soon experience the positive effects of the state’s investments in oil palm and cashew production.

Governor Akeredolu stated, “We are making significant progress in oil palm cultivation. Within the next three years, Ondo State is poised to lead the nation in oil palm production, and we are steadfast in our efforts.”

He continued, “Our attention will also be firmly focused on cashew production, commencing this October. We plan to produce and plant one million cashew seedlings in Ondo State.

Additionally, we have existing cocoa farms and have recently opened a new cocoa estate to support cocoa farming by local farmers in clusters.

This presents an opportunity that our people will undoubtedly embrace. We have already distributed over three million cocoa seedlings, which will have a substantial impact.”

Governor Akeredolu highlighted that although the results of these efforts might not be immediately apparent, their long-term impact would become evident in the next two to three years.

He emphasized the commitment to sustainability and the positive transformations occurring in the state’s agricultural landscape.

Managing Director of Johnvents, Mr. Oloyede Olatunji, lauded the international standard of chocolates produced by the factory and called upon the state government to create a more conducive environment for the growth of local and small businesses.
