Pastor Rotimi Okpaise, while making the announcement, disclosed that the late Taiwo Odukoya had shared his succession plan with the board of trustees (BoT) prior to his passing. Following this revelation, the BoT went ahead to unanimously elect Jimmy Odukoya as the Senior Pastor and Chairperson of the board.
“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” Pastor Okpaise declared.
The late Taiwo Odukoya, founder of the church, passed away on August 7 in the United States at the age of 67. This loss came barely two years after his wife, Nomthi Odukoya, succumbed to a two-year battle with cancer. The couple was blessed with two boys during their 11-year marriage. Prior to Nomthi, Taiwo Odukoya had been married to Bimbo for 21 years, who tragically died in the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash in Port Harcourt. CoNTINUE READING
As for the newly appointed Senior Pastor, Jimmy Odukoya is not just known for his spiritual leadership. He’s a recognized Nollywood actor, prominently known for his role as Oba Ade in Netflix’s ‘Woman King’. Jimmy has also showcased his talent in movies like ‘Lifting the Veil’, ‘I am Nazzy’, and ‘Oga Pastor’. Besides acting, Jimmy is a motivational speaker and a musician.
