The Townhall Meeting was organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in conjunction with the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

Tinubu, who shared his own diaspora experience, stressed the importance of altering one’s mindset, emphasizing that Nigeria offers numerous business opportunities. He urged attendees to seek and seize opportunities both in Nigeria and abroad.

The president expressed pride in Nigerians who excel in various fields in their host countries and acknowledged the positive behavior and manners exhibited by Nigerians abroad.

Tinubu also emphasized the need for unity among Nigerians, urging them to embrace each other without sentiment or discrimination, removing ethnic identities that divide them.

He reassured Nigerians that the country was blessed and should not remain poor due to leadership deficiencies. He shared his experiences during his election campaign, highlighting determination and perseverance as key factors in overcoming challenges.

During the event, Chairperson of NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, introduced Nigerians excelling in various fields in the U.S. to the president. These individuals expressed their support for Tinubu’s leadership and pledged to continue making Nigeria proud while contributing to its development.

The meeting also featured insights from Nigerians in the U.S. who are involved in business and law enforcement, emphasizing the importance of supporting economic empowerment opportunities and providing guidance to fellow Nigerians.

Prominent officials and dignitaries, including ministers and ambassadors, were in attendance at the Townhall Meeting.
