Among these governors are Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, and Peter Mbah of Enugu State, whose electoral triumphs were all affirmed by the tribunals.

The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, made its decision regarding Governor Eno’s election on the previous day, dismissing the suit brought forth by the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator John James Akpanudoedehe.

Akpanudoedehe, formerly the national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and currently representing the NNPP, had contested the election of Governor Eno, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), before the tribunal.

Following an extensive hour-long deliberation, the tribunal unanimously ruled that Akpanudoedehe’s petition against the governor, the PDP, and INEC lacked merit.

It was revealed that the petition had followed a similar flawed path as two previous cases dismissed by the tribunal two weeks prior, as it attempted to resurrect the matter of certificate forgery previously raised against Governor Eno, an issue that had already been conclusively resolved by the Supreme Court.
